Introduction of New Directors & SCLS Staff: Melissa Everson, Albany; Ryan Claringbole, Monona

Building Needs Assessment Work Group - K. Goeden provided an update on the building project.  You may view the PowerPoint presentation online.

Administration: Budget considerations - K. Goeden briefly discussed budget considerations for 2024.  You may view the PowerPoint presentation online.

Technology Services:  Budget, Cost Formula, Local Holds - V. Teal Lovely provided a PowerPoint presentation you may view online.

T. Drexler provided a PowerPoint presentation of the SCLS local holds project pilot data summary, which you may view online.
B. Anderson briefly discussed the recommended guidelines for local holds.  The guidelines include adult fiction and adult non-fiction only.  The request to expand the materials will go to the Circulation Services Subcommittee and then onto the ILS Committee.  As a reminder, the parameters can be applied to the materials for up to 60 days, but it’s up to the libraries discretion to take the materials off the local holds parameters and put them in general circulation sooner.  The staff will apply the local holds custom item status so patrons can see the items in the mobile app.  Linking documentation will be available to help libraries with the process. 

Technology Services Agreement revisions, Cyber security - M. Van Pelt reviewed the Technology Services Agreement revisions which every library in the system needs to sign.  Please look over the agreement and share it with your clusters.  The agreement will go to the AC for approval and then to the libraries for signatures.  The SCLS Board will also sign the agreement, which will go into effect in 2024.  She also discussed the importance of cyber security in every library.  Many of the libraries have cyber security through their municipality.
