4. Discussion
a. Updates from previous meeting

b. Linking Manual updates for Teaching Company sets
i. Discussion: The language in the manual needs to be clarified for Teaching Company (DVD) sets. In the past, we used to have library split these sets if there were existing matches in the system. We have moved forward with circulating DVD sets together even if there are existing matches. K. Linke will make this change in the manual.
c. AI-generated materials
i. Discussion: This came up recently and we wanted to bring it to the attention of the group. AI-generated text materials are starting to appear. MAD sent in a magazine new to LINKcat for K. Linke to enter into the catalog and set up the subscription records. They purchased this title through Ebsco (https://www.bipocgirls.com/). When K. Linke was setting up the record, it didn’t have the criteria required for Serials (clear enumeration). K. Linke investigated further and the website had a lot of placeholder text. MAD is disputing this subscription purchase with Ebsco. The content is not what anyone would be looking for in a magazine (numerous typos, inconsistent logo/branding, no real articles, etc.) MAD had a professional journalist on their staff take a look and said there were many violations. They canceled the subscription and deleted the record from the catalog. They want libraries to be aware of this in the future.
d. Update on ILS Evaluation
i. SirsiDynix demos: May 8-9 (Technical Services: Wed., May 8)
ii. Polaris demos: May 29-30 (Technical Services: Thurs., May 30)
1. Discussion: The SirsiDynix demo conflicts with the May CMS meeting. The group was OK with canceling the May meeting. The demos are open to all staff and can be attended in person or virtually. We will be doing a registration towards the end of the month. ILS Staff is working on checklists right now with the topic workgroups. The checklists will be sent to the vendor so they can shape their presentations around them. A. Gannaway, V. Teal Lovely, and H. Oliversen are going to PLA and have scheduled meetings with vendors to discuss the expectations for the demos.
e. Meeting format (virtual vs. in-person)
i. Discussion: The group prefers virtual meetings.
f. Other Bibliovation questions and discussion
i. Discussion: none.
