1. Call to Order at 9:33 am

a. Introduction of guests/visitors

i. Mary Fahndrich (MAD) is new to this group.  Welcome, Mary!

2. Approval of previous meeting minutes: January 17, 2024

a. Motion: R. Page moved approval of the January meeting minutes.  T. Campbell seconded.

a. Updates from previous meeting

i. Adding more ALA Award lists

1. Schneider Family Book Award

a. A. Gannaway finished adding the Schneider Family Book Award list.  These award lists get updated once a year and they have been updated for 2024. A. Gannaway started adding additional ALA Youth Media Awards lists to increase representation on the Don’t Miss Lists and at this time there aren’t other ALA Youth Media Award lists to add. If we were going to include additional regular monthly Don’t Miss Lists that included better representation we could do that; however, it would be a project that would include multiple SCLS staff. Given that we are doing the ILS investigation now, A. Gannaway proposes that we not make any changes now and revisit this in the future after the ILS investigation has been completed.

ii. Translating LINKcat bookmarks into Spanish

1. A. Gannaway reported that we have the Searching Help bookmark in Spanish available for libraries.  The translation for this bookmark was free.  A. Gannaway got approval to get the other bookmarks translated and SCLS will pay for this work.  She will work on this in April.  Once the bookmarks are translated, we will get them put into the bookmark format and offer them up to the libraries. 

b. Update on ILS Evaluation

i. SirsiDynix demos: May 8-9 (Discovery Layer: Thurs., May 9, 1pm)

ii. Polaris demos: May 29-30 (Discovery Layer: Wed., May 29, 1pm)

1. Discussion: A. Gannaway reviewed the ILS Evaluation web page and showed the group the entire schedule for the Demos.  Anyone interested may attend.  We are offering an in-person option at SCLS Headquarters or a virtual option via Zoom.  The registration information will go out next week.    

c. “Not renewable” display on the checkouts page in Firefox

i. Discussion: A while ago we had a request to add “Not renewable” to the first column on the patron’s checkouts page.  After the last Bibliovation Point Release and Firefox version update, there was a bug and it was not displaying correctly but only in Firefox, so it seemed like a Firefox issue.  A. Gannaway just got the newest version of Firefox this morning for testing purposes and the bug seems to be fixed.  J. Anderson confirmed this and was the one who reported it. This is something to keep an eye on in the future.  The new version of Firefox should go out to the libraries in the next few weeks.

d. Meeting format (virtual vs. in-person)

i. Discussion: A. Gannaway asked if the group would like to have any in-person meetings in the next year.  The group decided to keep meeting virtually as it is more convenient. 

e. Other Bibliovation questions and/or discussion

i. Discussion: none.
