Speak Up For Your Library | South Central Library System

We know you value your public library! Each time you attend one of its many programs, use a computer, or check out a book, movie, or music CD you make a continued investment in the library. And for that we’d like to thank you.

But the time has come for you to speak up and lend your voice in support!

Increasingly in today’s political and economic climate, there are times when your library needs your voice, or when the libraries of the South Central Library System (Adams, Columbia, Dane, Green, Portage, Sauk & Wood Counties) need your help. By signing up, you will receive occasional updates on library issues and alerts about legislation affecting libraries. You’ll be provided with information and perspectives about those issues and will be urged to call, write or email lawmakers on significant issues of interest. Rest assured that we will never share your name or email address with anyone but your own public library (in case they want to contact you).

Your voice can make a difference. Legislators say that most issues draw few comments and that as few as a half-dozen calls, letters, or emails from constituents can influence their decision making.

Add your voice to a growing chorus! Just fill out the online form, and we’ll contact you by e-mail when we need you to “speak up for your library!” If you aren't certain of the name of your state senator or representative, visit the Wisconsin Legislature website.
